U15 Boys SFAI CUP Last 16 Leixlip United 0 St Joseph’s 4.
Leixlip started brightly creating chances down the right with Nathan Byrne but they went ahead after 5 minutes from a 30 yard free kick that beat our keeper high into the net. We were still competing and creating half chances but just before halftime a killer blow when their center forward was slipped in and our keeper Finn Heffernan made a great 1v1 save but we didn’t react to the second ball and their winger slid in to finish. Second half again we started brightly but we needed the next goal and Daniel Bradley headed just over and we couldn’t get a touch on some great in swing corner deliveries from Max Farnan and Oisin Kelly the ball just wouldn’t fall for us. They got the 3rd and killed the game from a corner which we should have dealt with. The 4th goal was a long ball that caught us out as we pushed with 5 minutes left. The lads can be very proud of the run they have had and now need to dust themselves off and focus on the league and league cup.

U11 Boys Paul Fitzgerald Cup Leixlip United 2 Larkview 3.
We bow out of the Sunday Cup at the last 16 stage. The game never really got going and struggled to play our usual game on a bobbly pitch. Larkview were very direct and deserved to go through. We pushed for an equaliser at the end but couldn't find one unfortunately. Goalscorers: Liam Mcloughlin and Harry Gibbs.

U17 Boys Division 2 Larkview 0 Leixlip United 2.
Leixlip went one nil up after 15 minutes after a neat finish from Oscar Corcoran after he ghosted into the box and slotted home. Lads pushed for a second but some good Larkview defending left the game in the balance. Ten minutes into the second half one of our strikers picked up a red card (second yellow) which left us down to 10 men for the last 35 minutes. The lads dug in, soaked up some good Larkview pressure and hit them on the break with 15 minutes to go. Man of the match Charlie McCarthy broke up a Larkview attack, released James Monahan, who in turn fed James Gaynor, who finished from the outside of the box. Leixlip closed out the game for a good three points.

U14-7 Boys Leixlip United 1 Belmont 2.
A great team performance today, which the scoreline didn't reflect. We tried a new formation with lots of players in new positions and given new roles. Every one of the 17 strong squad gave their all and didn't leave anything behind. Belmont got off to the better start and were rewarded in the 5th minute with the opening goal. We started to gel and had a few chances in the first half but weren't able to take them. We came out in the second half and were on top. With 5 minutes left, Szymon Czekalski got us level with a well taken goal from a corner delivered in by Eric Savin. We pushed for the win, but Belmont caught us on the counterattack to take the lead with a minute left in normal time. We pushed again for the 5 minutes of added time, but we couldn't make the breakthrough. Overall, it was one of our best performances of the season but wasn't to be today.

U16 Girls League Cup Newbridge 1 Leixlip United 3.
A slow start today saw Newbridge take an early lead. We slowly battled back into the game and great pressure down our right hand side saw us win the ball. Branna Ward danced past a couple of defenders and equalised with a great finish. From that point on we were the stronger team but Newbridge were never out of it and our defence had to be alert. Niamh O'Rourke and Rebecca McCarthy kept their dangerous forward players in check and Gwen Sullivan gave us great cover in midfield. There was lots of excellent play in the second half but we couldn't get the winner so into extra time we went. Avah Quinn delivered a great goal kick to Daisy Healy who outpaced their defence and put us in front with a well deserved goal after a great game. We kept the pressure on and scored a third before the end. Daisy with her second, the pick of the goals, when she beat three defenders and finished high into the net. A well-deserved win in the end and on to the next round.

U15.1 Boys Bohemians 2 Leixlip United 3.
Leixlip had the best of the early exchanges and went close with efforts from James Smith and Dan O'Reilly but the first goal came after great work by Dan O'Reilly to hold off the centre half's and a ball inside the full back to Aidan McConville who buried it in the bottom corner. Bohs equalised almost immediately when the ref gave a peno for a bit of grappling in the box at a corner. Leixlip went ahead again before half time when Aidan Mcconville got his second with a looping shot the keeper couldn't keep hold of. 2-1 up at half time and Bohs definitely started second half stronger and got the equaliser after we failed to clear a mixup in our box. The lads reacted well after this and the game got a bit stretched. Stevie owens played in Krystian Ivanov and the keeper saved well from his low shot. Shortly after Steve McLoughlin was dragged down in the box but the ball found its way to Luke Schuster to grab the winner. Bohs nearly grabbed an equaliser as the ref somehow found 10+ minutes of injury time from somewhere but great saves from Conor Horan and last ditch tackles from Steve McLoughlin and Zach Fitzpatrick kept them out.
