U18 Major Boys Leixlip United 5 Home Farm 0.
In a game where we could have easily scored 10 we settled for 5. 2 goals each for Stephen Price and Luke Cowzer and 1 for Hamza Rafar gave us a win. Another clean sheet for Callum Byrne in goal.

U13 Premier Girls Leixlip United 2 Leicester Celtic 1.
A fantastic team performance all round. The girls did exactly what we asked them to do. They were fantastic, every single one of them. The game had everything. Super battles, crossbars and posts, missed chances, great goalkeeping and even a penalty save from our keeper. It was just brilliant. Leicester Celtic have been our biggest rivals every season. It was possibly the best I've seen the girls play in our 4 years, and that is every girl. It was a proper team performance. Our goal scorers Pippa O'Shea and Khloe Keegan scored the second. Ellie Mae Hutton as our keeper.

U14-7 Boys Esker Celtic 4 Leixlip United 3.
Another cracker of a game against the team second in league. Leixlip dominated the first half and went into the break 2-0 up. Eric Savin got our first. A beautiful free kick from Jakub Ferdynus put Ryan O'Neill through who flicked it back to Eric for the finish. For our second Eric Savin turned provider and played Ryan O'Neill in who expertly lobbed the keeper. We knew Esker would come out fighting and they did. With a big squad and lots of substitutions being made, we lost our shape a bit and over the half conceded 4 goals. We kept fighting and Thomas Reilly got us a goal in injury time. We went straight back up and had a penalty claim given as a free out. Great character from the boys again today, and they were disappointed with the result but will bring the fight into next week's game.

U15.1 Boys Leixlip United 2 Greystones 0.
Great performance from the lads against familiar opposition. After a lot of pressure Leixlip got the first after Stevie Owens played in Ben Kineavey who finished neatly past the keeper. Leixlip almost got their second straight away when Liam O'Hagan chipped the keeper, but it fell the wrong side of the post. The second goal came after 25 minutes when Zach Fitzpatrick delivered a great corner which James Smith flicked on for Krystian Ivanov to finish. The second half Greystones stepped up a gear but we defended well and when they did get through on goal Conor Horan made a point blank save to deny them. Greystones kept up the pressure, but we were unlucky not to get a 3rd with several breakaway chances. An impressive team display from all 14 involved today.

U16 M1 Girls Leixlip United 6 Finglas United 1.
A brilliant performance and win against a team that beat us a few weeks ago. While Finglas were missing a couple of influential players, the real difference was how well we played today. Leixlip started really strongly and were 3-0 up inside 15 minutes. We continued to create chances and Finglas had a couple of their own, but there were no more goals at halftime. Leixlip started the second half really brightly again and added two more before Finglas got one back. Leixlip had the final say with a 6th goal before the end. Our goal scorers were Faye x 2, Sophie x 2, Erin, Carly with her first ever goal!

U17.2 Boys Leixlip United 4 Beechwood 1.
Really strong squad performance against a physical Beechwood team. Lads went 1 nil up after 15 mins through a long range effort from Leon McDonnell. Leixlip let Beechwood back into the game after half time and sustained Beechwood pressure led to concession of a penalty which was well converted. Beechwood began to press for a winner but changes from our bench freshened things up. James Gaynor scored from the edge of the box to make it 2-1 after 60 minutes. Ten minutes later Ben O'Reilly scored his first for the club with a cool finish after a great through ball from Josh Byrne to make it 3-1. Beechwood continued to press but Gaynor popped up to score his second of the game with 10 minutes to go, after unselfish work by Sam Bacon, to put the game to bed.

U12 SFAI Cup Round 4 Mount Merrion UCD 3 Leixlip United 2.
It was a second early trip out to UCD in 3 weeks. The lads started brightly drawing a wonder save early on but found ourselves one down to a penalty. Both keepers exchanged good saves when a good delivery from a Daniel Dempsey corner saw a Donnacha O’Reilly volley nestle in the top corner to go level. Some misfortune saw Mount Merrion go one ahead with a neat near post finish. The second half saw the opposition on top but a break away from Harry Reilly had a cross shot deflected in to level the scores. After a good battle on a difficult pitch it went into extra time. It was anyone's game at that stage when the home team scored from a corner with the last kick of the first half. They then had the momentum, the wind and a couple of extra subs that helped them see out the game. Our lads can be proud of their cup run and were this game away from last 32. Their effort couldn’t be faulted, kept fighting to the end and appreciated the support from their parents at the end of the game.

U15 SFAI CUP RND 4 Leixlip United 4 Collinstown 2.
Great result for the lads and fully deserved, we only had 13 players due to injury and school trips but to a man they were excellent. A great move after 10 minutes saw Nathan Byrne hit a post and 2 minutes later another great move slipped Daniel Bradley in but he shot straight at keeper. Then one simple move cost us with their left winger getting free he played it across the edge of the box to an unmarked midfielder who finished from 18 yards out 1 nil down. The lads responded and a high looping free was let bounce and Harry O’Connor ghosted in to slip by the ball into the corner 1-1 back in it. Then the best move of the match playing out from the back working it to Max Farnan on the left who beat his man in the box and his low driven cross was attacked at near post by Daniel Bradley and his left foot first time finish under the keeper was a proper centre forward goal 2-1. On the stroke of halftime we gave away a silly indirect free on the edge of our box which we blocked but didn’t react and the forward toe poked home when we should’ve cleared 2-2 halftime. We didn’t have to tell the lads much at halftime as they were playing excellent football and creating chances but next goal was key and we got it through Daniel Bradley with good work by Dany Pop to get him the ball in the box and Daniel finished from 10 yards, we had to make changes and the lads who came in shored things up but we were still creating chances and good work from Isaac Fox led to Daniel Bradley getting his hat trick and the match ball with a toe poke home from six yards out 4-2 and then we saw out the last 10 minutes where we could’ve scored again with a great move down the left ending with Max Farnan hitting the side net. No clean sheet but Collinstown were strongest up top so we dealt with that really well. We are into the open draw so it’s a free hit from here but hopefully we get a good draw.

U14.2 Boys Leixlip United 3 St Mochtas 0.
An incredibly strong performance from our boys. Leixlip got on the score sheet early, Evan Barton converting from close range, following a Tom Dolan cross. The visitors rallied and pushed for the equaliser but couldn't get past Leixlip goalkeeper Ben Donnely. The Leixlip stopper pulling off two impressive saves in short succession. Leixlip made four changes at the break and yet maintained their impressive performance. Tom Dolan made 2-0 at the 50 minute mark. No more than the striker deserved as he was a constant threat all day. Evan Barton got his brace shortly after, again arriving late at the back post following a well worked corner. The game finished 3-0. It was a really strong performance by a great bunch of lads.
