Clonee 2 - Leixlip 2

A really good comeback on Thursday, we started slowly and were punished for a bit of complacency to find ourselves 2-0 down around 25 minutes into the game. But we grew into the game and from around half an hour in we found ourselves winning more of the ball and keeping possession better. Ava Carey pulled one back for us, with a good finish from out wide - with their keeper out of position, Ava (our right back) neatly passed the ball into the net from about 25 yards.

Second half we kicked on and had plenty of possession and better openings. The equaliser came from a super finish from Emily Lynch, as the keeper was coming out, Emily lofted it over her for 2-2.

We were well on top for a spell, had a few corners too and good attacking opportunities, ball didn't drop kindly. Late on Clonee had a few chances and in goals, Alison was superb, making two fantastic stops. Also credit to our defenders who had to be on their toes today - Fiona Shields took no prisoners on several occasions clearing our lines! Midfield also worked extremely hard to keep us motoring. A draw was a fair result on the balance of things.
